Life coaching is about taking the time to reassess your life and taking charge of your life and dreams.
- Looking to get more out of life?
- Needing a change of direction but not sure where to start?
- Feeling lost and looking for help getting back on track?
- Clear what you want to achieve but not sure how to get there?
- Wanting help staying on track with your goals?
- Fed up with always helping others but never having enough energy to change your own life?
- Always reading self help books but if you're honest with yourself, just not taking action?
- Needing to re-evaluate who you are and where you are going?
"It's never too late to be who you might have been." George Elliott
You are in the right place.
Life coaching is about taking the time for you; to reassess and take charge of your life and dreams. It is an action based approach to positive change.
You might be finding that left to your own devices, you know something needs to change but just don't know how to make it happen.
Your thoughts ping pong between what you want, to resignation that it can never happen and back again. You can go around in circles like this and it can go on for months, if not years.
One of the big benefits of working with me as your Life Coach is being accountable for what you have said you want to achieve and making it happen.
You won't be alone on your journey; we will navigate whatever you are dealing with together. I will be 100% on your side; non judgemental and supportive as we go about making your dreams reality.

What are the main differences between coaches, counsellers and therapists?
- Counsellers focus on giving clients the space to discuss their personal thoughts and feelings.
- Therapists focus on behaviours or emotions that are causing problems in your life.
- Coaches focus on the present and the future. Coaching is action oriented and works on the premise that you are your own best expert.
What benefits does life coaching offer?
A good life coach won't give you advice or tell you what to do. Life coaching is about helping you to draw on your own intuition to progress forwards in a way that's right for you - after all, you know yourself and your life best! When you book me as your coach, you are enlisting the support and encouragement of someone who will help you to clarify your values and strengths and help you navigate obstacles and mindsets that have been stopping you, so that you can move in the direction you want to go in. To get the most out of the coaching process, there is work to do between sessions. A big benefit of engaging in life coaching is being accountable for what you have said you want to achieve and making it happen. Finally, the life coaching process is challenging, exciting and most importantly, fun!

How does coaching take place?
I coach by phone and Skype so location is no object.
Face to face coaching is available for local clients (Canterbury & East Kent, UK), on request.
How do I decide whether to have coaching by phone, Skype or face-to-face?
Phone & Skype
Phone and Skype coaching are handy options as they can be done at your convenience and without any additional travelling times for you. If you live in another part of the world, then we can do coaching via phone or Skype.
Face to face
If I have availability and you live locally, we can do face to face coaching. You may want some or all your sessions face to face with me. For some, meeting your coach can be a nice touch (but it isn't essential).
You can combine phone, Skype and face to face coaching as suits you. All coaching methods are effective.
Are There Any Other Costs Involved?
For phone coaching; making the telephone call to me and for Skype coaching your internet costs. The cost of the call will depend on where you are and the service you use.
I contacted Jen earlier in 2016 as I was at somewhat of a crossroads with my work and I was also struggling with sell appreciation and appreciating the efforts of those closest to me. Jen provided me with guidance and tools to start realising the skills and what I really had going for me. I have now completed multiple sessions with Jen and my personal and professional lives have improved immeasurably. Highly recommended. DH, Canterbury (2016)
My first meeting with Jen was as a student mentor at my university. My anxiety and depression had made the changes and pressures in my life very difficult to cope with and it was recommended that I see Jen on a regular basis to help manage my daily life and health issues. I saw her regularly over the following three years and during that time she not only helped to organise my life into manageable sections, but also recommended various other services to help with specific needs. Jen also taught me various coping techniques for my anxiety as well as also helping me to grow in confidence in regards to myself and my abilities. Once I finished university I booked some sessions with her for life coaching in order to help me adjust to life outside of university and the changes and pressures that came with it. Not only is Jen kind, caring and approachable, she is able to guide you through your issues to realise answers to problems yourself. She is quickly able to relate to your issues and suggest ways in which they could be resolved through methods which suit your personality, whether this is logical steps or creative activities. Booking these sessions with Jen is definitely one of the best decisions I have made and I highly recommend attending her sessions. GP, Canterbury (2015)
I have been attending weekly coaching sessions with Jen Smith for almost 12 months. During which time I have also been experiencing a major life transition, and a rigorous program of personal development. From the outset Jen has helped me tremendously to achieve all my objectives. She is an excellent coach, who listens sympathetically, then skillfully guides you positively, towards achievable and measurable solutions. Jen has in depth knowledge, and access to a wide variety of the latest self-development, tools and techniques, that she encourages and supports you to use between coaching sessions. Jen is a truly remarkable person, and professional life coach. She has an amazing ability to understand what, teach how, and prepare you for the future. JLP, Canterbury (2014)
After being very sceptical about Life Coaching, I found the experience very helpful. Thanks Jen - it was invaluable. LT, Ramsgate (2009)
My goals were to unblock my fear of choosing a new career path. I needed to bring some focus and direction to the range of career change options that I’d identified for myself and to decide on a new career path and plan to take steps towards making that happen. Through the sessions, Jen asked challenging questions and helped me reflect on my skills and interests, helping me to see some of them in new ways. She supported me when I faced self doubt and helped me turn negatives perceptions into positives. She encouraged me to whittle my ideas and options down week-by-week, based on ‘homework’ research and evaluating them against my values, interests and life balance. I have decided on a new path that has various steps that I can take over time to achieve a new career and working life. I am now taking steps to build a website and taking a course to learn new skills. LS, Faversham (2012)
I have achieved things I would never have done before Life Coaching. I am far more adventurous. I have amazed myself! Thank you Jen. MB, London (2010)
I came to life coaching to change my way of thinking and to get through a rough patch in my life, I’m happy to say I have fulfilled this goal. Before life coaching I found it very difficult to talk to someone about things that were bothering me as I felt it would annoy them and be a sign of weakness from me and just found the whole thing really embarrassing, but I felt like I could talk to Jen easily as she would always listen. Before life coaching, I felt my problems didn’t really matter and I wouldn’t be taken seriously as I was young but now I know that they do matter and I shouldn’t just ignore them.
LK, Canterbury (2014)
I found life coaching with Jennifer to be a life changing experience. She has a lovely way of making you see that with a bit of organisation you can achieve what you want out of life. You have helped me to take the final step on getting my life back on track – I am so pleased I came to you. PH,Canterbury (2010)
I have found this a very positive experience and one I know I have and will in the future benefit from. I am very grateful to Jen, it really has improved my life. CB, Maidstone (2010)
